16 Biggest Upsets In March Madness History

On March 16, 2018, the UMBC Retrievers made history by becoming the first sixteen seed to knock off a number one seed when they took down Virginia in dominating fashion by a score of 74-54. Up until last week, the sixteen seeds were a combined 0-135 in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. While this win is clearly the biggest upset in history, there are many other teams who shocked the world and busted their fair share of brackets. Will there be a similar Cinderella story this year? It won't be the Retrievers, who were knocked out by Kansas State in the second round. Syracuse and Loyola Chicago, both ranked 11th, are the highest seeds left in the tournament.
