Three-Month-Old Dies After Mother Dropped Him While Fighting Another Woman

A Georgia woman has been charged with murder after she dropped her three-month-old son on the pavement during a fight with another woman. Police say that 26-year-old Karen Lashun Harrison got into a fight with another woman in the parking lot of a beauty supply store on Friday (July 19). During the fight, Harrison dropped her son onto the pavement and he injured his head.

The next day, she took her infant son to the hospital where he later died. Harrison told police that it was a tragic accident and that her friend Carneata Clark was holding the young boy when she accidentally dropped him. Clark told the police the same story, but officials began investigating and learned what really happened.

Investigators reviewed surveillance camera footage from the beauty supply store and saw Harrison fighting another woman. The video showed Harrison was the one who dropped the child on the ground during the fight.

Authorities arrested Harrison and charged her with felony murder, cruelty to children, and simple battery. Clark was charged with false statements and writings and obstruction of an officer. The other woman involved in the fight has not been charged, but officials say that more arrests could be made in the case.
