Naked Gunman Kills Four at Tennessee Waffle House

Police in Nashville are warning residents to lock their doors and stay at home after a seminude man killed four people at a Tennessee Waffle House.

"Keep your doors locked, keep your eyes open. If you see this individual -- if you see a nude guy walking around this morning -- call the police department immediately," Metro Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said.

Police say they're looking for 29-year-old Travis Reinking, of Morton, IL. According to police, the gunman arrived in a vehicle registered to Reinking, though, the gunman was last seen walking away from the Waffle House naked.

The incident began around 3:23 a.m. in Antioch, which is southeast of Nashville. Witnesses say after sitting in his truck for a few minutes, the gunman got out of the truck, and fatally shot two people outside the restuarant with an "assaulty-type rifle."

Police say, the gunman then went inside the restaurant and continued firing. Two more people inside were shot and killed. Other witnesses suffered lacerations on their face from the shattered windows.

The gunman was stopped by a customer who heard the gunshots and was hiding near the restuarant's bathrooms. When the customer saw an opportunity to stop the gunmna, he leapt into action accorting to Nashville police.

"He saw the gunman looking at his rifle. At that point, the shots had stopped. So he decided to rush the gunman, actually wrestled that assault rifle away, tossed it over the counter. At that point, the gunman then fled," Aaron said. "He is the hero here, and no doubt he saved many lives by wrestling the gun away and then tossing it over the counter, and prompting the man to leave."

The gunman then left his jacket and fled on foot. Police tweeted Sunday morning that,. "A man believed to be Travis Reinking was last seen in a wood line near Discovery at Mountain View Apts. on Mountain Springs Dr. near the Waffle House.  The man was seen wearing black pants and no shirt."

The motive for the shooting appears to be random, police said.
