After Boston, Media and Politicians Give Antifa Another Pass

INJOIn the aftermath of the “Unite the Right” rally turning into a riot, many people correctly condemned the part the white supremacists played in escalating the violence, especially since it was a white supremacist who drove a car into a counterprotesting crowd.

Some people, however, found it hard to condemn antifa's role in the violence. In the end, both the media and politicians gave the radical left-wing group a pass.

Fast forward to Saturday's “Free Speech Rally” in Boston. Once again hundreds of antifa members went there to oppose the “Nazis” and “fascists.” Except, there weren't any. Instead, it was mainly a few Trump supporters and conservatives who everyone was led to believe were Nazis.

After the event was over, counterprotesters still remained in Boston and things became violent once again, even though there were no “white supremacists” anymore.

Yes, there were lots of people who didn't fight against the police. But the narrative of the number of police agitators as “very small” has already formed. The Boston police commissioner said, “99.9 percent of the people here were here for the right reason.”

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said people showed up “peacefully ... for our values.”

Even members of the media are helping push the overall narrative.
